TEHRAN – Iran’s 96kg freestyle wrestler will be announced the 2006 world bronze winner if the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) confirms the result of initial test that shows Ruslan Sheyikhov from Belarus has used banned blood-enhancing substances.

Sheyikhov had a surprising performance in the bronze battle against the 2004 Athens Olympics bronze medalist Heidari in the world third-place bout in Guangzhou, southeastern China.

Iran skipper Heidari, who wished he would snatch a medal in Guangzhou, took the fifth title.

With one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, the Iranian side finished runner-up to Russia.

Morad Mohammadi snatched the gold in the 60kg while Ali-Asghar Bazri took the 74kg silver and their teammates Reza Yazdani and Fardin Ma’soumi bagged two bronze medals in the 84 and 120kg classes respectively.
